Miles Allen "Junior" McCombs, age 74, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (February 3, 2011) at his residence after suffering from a debilitating illness.

He was born on September 27, 1936, in Jefferson County KY, the son of the late Miles Allen McCombs Sr. and Lillian Mae Taylor Vincent.

Junior, known as "lawn mower man" at Duff, was also a retired 3rd District Grayson County Constable, a handyman, a sawmill worker, and a former member of the U.S. Marine Corp. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and neighbor.

He is survived by his wife, Francy Poole McCombs; one daughter, Phyllis VanMeter; five sons, Miles McCombs III, Jimmie McCombs, James McCombs, Bobby McCombs, Cletus McCombs; and one brother/son, Robert Dale Vincent (Robin); one brother, Russell Vincent (Bonita); four sisters, Rosie Hayse (Robert), Jeanette Brooks (Coy), Joyce Sanders (Jim), and Mary Alvey (Walter); and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Edward McCombs, and one sister, Maggie Pennington.

Cremation was chosen.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday (February 5, 2011) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Mike Cannon will be officiating.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 1:00 p.m. until time of service on Saturday.
