Mitchell E. Ford age 74 , of, Falls of Rough, KY, passed away Friday, (April 18, 2014) at Norton's Hospital in Louisville, KY.

He was born on October 5, 1939 in Falls of Rough, the son of the late Ivory and Edith Eskridge Ford.

He retired as a maintenance machinist from Phillip Morris after 34 years of service to the company. He was an avid woodworker, and loved his beloved basset hound, Charley. He was a member of the Falls of Rough Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Sublett Ford of Falls of Rough; two sons, Barry Ford and his wife, Tracy, of Louisville, and Gary Ford and his wife, Susie, of Valley Station; one step-son, Jody Hickerson and his wife Laura of Louisville; ten grandchildren, Gary, Zack, Brittany, Whitney, Natalie, Kelsey, Chase, Bailey, Sarah, and Mason; one great-grandchild, Ke'mauri; one brother, Ivory Ford, Jr. (Junie) and his wife, Joann, of Louisville; one sister, Kaye Thornberry and her husband, Jimmy, of Falls of Rough; and several other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mickey Ford, and one sister, Brenda Sue Johnson.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. CST, Tuesday, (April 22, 2014) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Roger Allen will be officiating. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery, with a committal service at 3:00 p.m. EST.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CST on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.
