Murrell D. Wilkins, age 83, of Leitchfield, KY, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, (October 3, 2016) at Spring View Nursing and Rehab.

He was born on December 28, 1932 in Grayson County, the son of the late Guy and Anna Mae Swift Wilkins.

He was retired from Gates Rubber Company. He enjoyed visiting different churches, and buying and selling lawn mowers. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He had attended Hudson Baptist Church and was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Leitchfield, KY.

He is survived by his wife, Reva Wigginton Wilkins; one son, Craig Wilkins (Michelle) of Lawrenceburg, KY; one daughter, Teresa Gail Wilkins of Leitchfield, KY; one step-son, Rodney Devine (Francisca) and one step-daughter, Cindy Willen (Tony) of Clarkson; one granddaughter, five step- grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Roy Wilkins (Betty); sister, Jewell Farris (Marion); brother-in-law, Bub Duvall (Gladys); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Patty Jean Duvall Wilkins, three sisters, Marie Woosley, Cuba Woosley, and Ruby Smith; and two brothers, Guy Wilkins, Jr. and Ernest Wilkins.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, (October 6, 2016) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Rick Earley and Bro. Jimmy Tucker will be officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery with military honors.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
