Myrtle Newton, age 93, of Leitchfield KY, passed away Wednesday, (September 7, 2011) at the Springview Nursing and Rehab in Leitchfield.
She was born on April 4, 1918, in Edmonson County, KY, the daughter of George and Essie Deweese Heath. She was a housewife and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
She is survived by six sons, Lewis (Lucille), Jimmy and Lawrence (Tami) of Leitchfield, Paul of Elizabethtown, KY, Tommy (Pat) of Caneyville, KY and Earl Newton (Dottie Krause) of Louisville, KY, two daughters, Ruth Ann Meredith (Ralph) of Glendale, KY and Judy Haycraft (Ralph) of Leitchfield, two brothers, Charles Heath (Frances) of Idaho and Pete Heath(Dorsey), one sister, Almeda Booker (Danny), eighteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Newton and one son, Everett Newton, Jr.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday (September 9, 2011) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Pastor Christopher Rollins will be officiating. Burial will be in the South Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. Friday until time of service.
