Nelda Rea Wood, age 87, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Friday, (October 29, 2021) at Grayson Manor Nursing and Rehab.

She was born on September 9, 1934 in Grayson County, KY, the daughter of the late Earl T. and Jessie Irene Sanders.

She retired after working in the garment industry and working at Doris's Restaurant in Leitchfield.  She enjoyed being a housewife, mother and grandmother. She married her husband, Randall E. Wood on July 26, 1952. She loved gardening and canning. She was a member of the Anneta VFD Ladies Auxiliary.  She was a member of the Anneta United Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Randall E. Wood; children, Deborah R. Decker and Ervin E. Wood; grandchildren, Jeremy Ray Decker, Deborah LeeAnn Barclay, and Trenton Joseph Wood; great-grandchildren, Talan Luke Decker, Kenzlea Marie Decker, Brianna Marea Barclay and Bailey Elaine Wood; two sisters, Agnes Duvall and Janette Pierce; two brothers, Charles and Jimmy Sanders; and several nieces and nephews.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Waylon Barclay; two sisters, Delda Downs and Loretta Sanders; and three brothers, Rockie, Junior and Leon Sanders.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, (November 5, 2021) at the Anneta United Baptist Church. Bro. Blake Newton will be officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Anneta United Baptist Church from 10:00 a.m. on Friday until time of service.
