Nell D. Stewart, age 88, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Monday, (September 21, 2026) at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes in Leitchfield.

She was born on March 06, 1938 in Grayson County, KY, the daughter of the late Lee and Mamie Hodge Wilson.

She was a homemaker and a housewife who loved animals and enjoyed sewing, reading, decorating cakes and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Baptist Faith and belonged to the Bethel Baptist Church for more than 10 years.

She is survived by her son, Charles David Stewart of Leitchfield; three daughters, Gay Franklin (Alan) of California, Vickie Brown (Bobby Beville) and Barbara Rudnick (Billy) both of Leitchfield; seven grandchildren, Billie Jean, Bridgett, Chelvie, Brandon, JP, Cheyenne & Austin; 11 great-grandchildren, Logan, Felicia, Tristan, Emma, Rosalyn, Katie, Blake, Mason, Oliver, Allison & Emma Rudnick; two brothers, Kelly Wilson of Leitchfield, Thomas Wilson (Ping) of Las Vegas, NV; two sisters, Rose Trafton (Rick) of Louisville, KY & Joann Borges (Melvin) of Hawaii. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of almost 40 years, Charles Stewart; a daughter, Louise Higgins; five brothers, Robert, Roger, John, William Floyd & Douglas Wilson; and a sister, Lucille Stanton.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, (September 27, 2026) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Jerry Weedman will be officiating. Burial will be in the Sanders Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. Sunday until time of services.
