Obituary

Norma "Maxine" Taylor, age 85, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Sunday, (October 13, 2013) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.

She was born on March 3, 1928 in Hartford, KY, the daughter of the late Stephen Lynn and Marie Westerfield Baird.

She was married for 55 years to her high school sweetheart, John Hill Taylor, who preceded her in death.

She enjoyed quilting, fishing, playing golf and tennis and watching all sports on TV; she was a graduate of Hartford High School where she was a cheerleader; She attended Western Kentucky University, a retired school teacher who also served as a cafeteria director for Leitchfield schools, a retired bookkeeper with Embry's Furniture; a member of the Daughters of American Revolution and a member of the Leitchfield First Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John and Karen Taylor of Leitchfield, two grandchildren, Nolan Taylor (Emily) of Hopkinsville, KY, and Scott Reed Taylor of Leitchfield, three nieces and a nephew, Norma Schott, Diane Richeson, Susie Henderson and Gerald Shroader.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Martyne B Lucas.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, (October 17, 2013) at the Leitchfield First Baptist Church Life Center. Bro. Jerry Dunaway Jr and Bro. Doug King will be officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday and at the Life Center from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
