Obituary

Norman Conder, age 89, of Peonia, KY, passed away Wednesday, (June 17, 2026) at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, KY.

He was born on March 08, 1937 in Clark County, IN, the son of the late James Albert and Rosa Mae Miller Conder.

He was a welder who loved collecting and scrapping metal, operating his wrecker service, and spending time with family. He was a member of Mt. Hebron Gospel Mission.

He is survived by his wife of almost 30 years, Hettie Gannon Conder of Peonia; five children, Patricia Gibson, Albert Conder, Norman Conder Jr. and Perry Lucas (Jeana Sutphin), all of Leitchfield, KY and Mona Lisa Watkins (Jamie Fox) of Millwood, KY; 13 grandchildren; over 30 great-grandchildren; many great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Danny Conder of Leitchfield & Gary Conder (Kathy) of Clarkson; and a sister, Arlene Stark of Louisville, KY. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Louise Cripps Conder, to whom he was married for 33 years; two daughters, Norma Louise Maples & Murleen Pruitt; two grandsons; three brothers, Sherill, Murrell & Milford Conder and two sisters, Fredia Lucas & Patsy Kiper.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, (June 26, 2026) at Mt. Hebron Gospel Mission in Mt. Hebron, KY. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and will move to Mt. Hebron Gospel Mission on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.
