Orvil LeRoy Whittle, age 92 , of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Monday, (November 21, 2022) at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, KY.

He was born on July 17, 1930 in Edmonson County, KY, the son of the late Marshall and Bessie Neagle Whittle.

He was a retired rubber worker at American Synthetic Co. who enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding and tinkering with cars. He was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Leitchfield where he was a member for 31 years.

He is survived by his daughters, Dianna Sheehan of Bee Springs, KY, Sherry Smith (John) of Murfreesboro, TN; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Lillian Bernice Whittle; son, Stephen D. Whittle, one grandson, Brandon D. Whittle, a son-in-law, Steven Sheehan, and a brother, Donald Whittle.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m.  Saturday, (November 26, 2022) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Buddy Brooks will be officiating. Burial will be in the Rocky Hill Cemetery in Smiths Grove, KY.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday and from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
