IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patsy Edwards
Swift
January 19, 1938 – December 3, 2024
Patsy Edwards Swift, age 86, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Tuesday, (December 3, 2024) at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, KY with all seven of her children and several other family members by her side.
She was born on January 19, 1938 in Short Creek, KY, the daughter of the late Ottie and Osie Wilson Edwards.
She loved many things: spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, she also enjoyed, cooking, canning, quilting, bowling, and playing board games with her family. Patsy was known to be a prankster and was famous for her turkey and dressing. She was considered selfless, as she always put others before herself and thoroughly enjoyed taking care of everyone. During the pandemic Patsy single handedly cooked a meal once a week to feed the nurses at the VA Clinic. Her generosity towards others is evident in the way she provided for people in need.
Her determination was something to admire. If Patsy set her mind to something it was going to get done and done exceptionally well. She loved to sing and enjoyed gospel and country music. Above all, she loved God and was a member of Potter's Hope.
She is survived by her seven children, Darlene Embry of Morgantown, KY, Diane Manning of Leitchfield, Darrell Swift (Brenda) of Lexington, KY, Dwane Swift of Louisville, KY, David Swift (Elizabeth) of Lebanon, OH, Tim Swift (Myra) of Leitchfield and Tammy Roy (Joe) of Rowlett, TX; grandchildren, Vanessa (Aaron), Darrell II (Jennifer),Courtney, Joseph (Samantha), Brittany (Matt), Darin ( Rachel), Whitni, Dillon, Mallory, Benjamin, Christian, Aaron and Bella; and 12 great-grandchildren and one more on the way. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Ray Swift; sons-in-law, Joffery Embry and Greg Manning; three brothers, Daymon Edwards, Jesse Elmer Edwards, Cecil Edwards; three sisters, Verlene Powell, Gerene Kersey and Dorothy Shain; and two infant brothers and sisters.
