Patty Ann
Cherry
November 8, 1965 – April 28, 2026
Wingfield Fire Department
2:00 - 6:00 pm (Central time)
Patty Ann Cherry, age 60, of Brownsville, KY passed away Tuesday, (April 28, 2026) at The Med Center Health in Bowling Green, KY.
She was born on November 8, 1965 in Bowling Green, KY, the daughter of the late Tommy Cherry and Alice Meredith.
Patty spent many years as a caregiver, providing for elderly individuals that she loved dearly. She was an avid antiques collector, an amazing, but messy, cuisine chef, a true crime enthusiast, history connoisseur, and had a green thumb - specifically for vegetables and flowers in her self proclaimed “yarden.”
With an abundance of imagination, she was also a great storyteller, sharing her tales with her greatest joys on this Earth: her nieces and nephews, who lovingly referred to her as “Sissy.”
Sissy was a person of deep kindness, someone who loved unconditionally, who listened without judgment, and who cared in a way that felt steady and sincere. Those who knew her will remember the warmth in her presence, the quiet generosity, and the way she made people feel seen.
Like many of us, Sissy’s life was not without struggle. There were choices made that brought hardship and consequences, moments that shaped a path more complicated than anyone would have wished. But those decisions never erased the core of who Sissy was: a good and genuine person who carried both strengths and flaws with humanity.
Patty’s story is defined by the love given, the relationships formed, and the effort to move forward. In remembering her, we hold space for the full truth of a life lived: the light and the shadow, the laughter and the lessons.
She is survived by her sister, Sabrina Meredith Bullock (Jimmy) of Brownsville, KY; her brother, Thomas Cherry of Rockfield, KY; her nieces and nephews, Meredith Harrison (Brad) of Clarkson, KY, Christopher Bullock (Hayley), Jacob Bullock (Samantha) and Madison Bullock (Cooper Richardson) all of Brownsville; and her great nieces and nephews, Blane Wilder and Beckley Raine Harrison and James Wyatt and Wrenley Lou Bullock; and several special family members that meant so much to her, Mike Belk (Karla), Stormie Abney (Tom T), Windy Lindsey, Raymond Burch and Jason Miller all of Bowling Green. A host of friends who love her dearly also survive.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Leon Meredith.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation was chosen. To honor Patty's life and the love she shared so freely, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Wingfield Fire Department (1780 Wingfield Church Rd Bowling Green, KY 42101) from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday (May 3, 2026). In true Patty fashion, the family invites all who knew and loved her to join them for a meal, cherished memories, laughter, and fellowship as they celebrate a life well lived.
