Paul W. Witten, age 77, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Sunday, (May 03, 2026) at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes in Leitchfield, KY.
He was born on January 28, 1949 in Vine Grove, KY, the son of the late Thurman and Mary Bewley Witten.
A proud alumnus of Western Kentucky University, Paul was a retired teacher, a master electrician and an entrepreneur, founding many local businesses such as QPI Inc. (Quality Photographic Images), QPI Computers, QPI Satellite, REP Rentals and West Kentucky Internet. He was also involved in youth sports, coaching Minor League and Little League baseball, Grayson County Jr. Pro Baseball and Football and served as the freshman football coach at Grayson County High School. He enjoyed playing golf, going on annual family vacations, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a longtime member of the Leitchfield First Baptist Church, the Leitchfield Lion’s Club, and Gideon International.
Paul is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Witten; two sons, Aaron Witten (Laura) and Jason Witten, both of Leitchfield; three grandchildren, Luke, Asher & Alaina; two brothers, Danny Witten (Darlene) and Larry Witten (Sheila), both of Elizabethtown; a sister, Kathryn Morgan (Joe) of Hodgenville, KY; and a sister-in-law, Rhonda Witten, of Radcliff, KY. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Witten.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, (May 09, 2026) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Doug King will be officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Gideon’s International or Lions Club International Foundation.
