Obituary
Pernie J. Stanton, age 88, of Elizabethtown, KY, passed away Thursday, (September 8, 2016) at Kensington Manor in Elizabethtown.
She was born on July 1, 1928, in Hart County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Johnny and Rena Smith Stasel.
She retired from Etown Sportswear, and enjoyed sewing & gardening. She was a member of Broadford Baptist Church.
She is survived by six children, Freelyn Stanton (Gail Porter) of Big Clifty, KY, Lois Murphy and her late husband Roger of Elizabethtown, KY, Danny Stanton and his wife Guyanne of Sonora, KY, Doug Stanton of Cecilia, KY, Hans Stanton of Elizabethtown and Lisa Muegge and her husband Art of Arnold, MO; 17 grandchildren; 38 greatgrandchildren; 5 great greatgrandchildren; one sister, Dorine Joyce of Elizabethtown, KY. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Steve Stanton, and three brothers, Gilbert, Austin and Thomas Stasel.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon (CST) Sunday, (September 11, 2016) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Glenn Stasel will be officiating. Burial will be in the Caswell Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. CST to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 9:00 a.m. CST Sunday until time of services.
