Obituary
Phyllis Hornback, age 76, of Caneyville, KY, passed away Monday, August 8, 2016, at Nortons Hospital in Louisville.
She was born on December 31, 1939, in Caneyville, KY, the daughter of the late Eugene and Bowers Small.
She was a life long teacher, over her 37 plus year career as a teacher in Grayson County Schools, a member of KEA, involved in local and state educational organizations that impacted thousands of lives. She was a lifetime member of the Baptist Mission Association, also a member of Smalls Grove Church.
She is survived by her three children, Brian Scott (Diane), Carl Hornback (Tracy), from Leitchfield and Billie Hayes (Joy) from Tennessee; five grandchildren; April Saltsman, Clinton Hayes, Adam Hayes, Ronnie Hornback and Zane Hayes Cunningham and seven great-grandchildren and one sister-in-law Betty Jean Small.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Lyndon Small.
Cremation was chosen with a memorial service to be held at the old Caneyville School on August 20, 2016, from 11a.m.- 5p.m. In lieu of flowers make donations to the Ronald McDonald House organization.
