Phyllis Jean Whobrey, age 77, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Saturday, (May 30, 2020) at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.

She was born on October 10, 1942 in Grayson County, KY, the daughter of the late Damon Lee and Elta Lee Garner Minton.

She was a press operator at a sewing factory who enjoyed gardening, sewing, and making doll clothing. She attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Leitchfield.

She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Lee Sanders of Clarkson, KY and Regina Lynn Sanders (Ronnie) of Leitchfield; four grandchildren, Katrina Marshall (Stephen), Sabrina Mahurin (Travis), Saranda Crain and Glyndon Crane; eight great-grandchildren, Neveah Faith, Kealah Rae, Waelyn Carnell, Dylan Michael, Evelynn Blake Marshall, and Dylan, Logan and Coltan Mahurin; two sisters, Charlice Dean Van Meter of Leitchfield and Patricia Ann Nelson of Wax, KY. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Whobrey and a great grandchild, Addison Leigh Pharris.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, (June 4, 2020) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Candlelight Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
