Porter Embry, age 76, of Caneyville, KY, passed away Thursday, (August 11, 2011) at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center.

He was born on October 13, 1934, at Neafus, KY, the son of Henry & Gertha Lee Carter Embry. He was a US Army Veteran, a retired employee of General Electric Co. and attended the Caneyville Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife Nettie Davison Embry of Caneyville, 1 son Kevin Dale Embry of Florida, 1 daughter Lisa Dianne Beira of Florida, 2 brothers, Wendell & Walton Embry of Caneyville, 3 sisters , Edith Bivins, Alene Baker, & Nina Crume,
6 grandchildren, Madeline, Kaylee & Morgan Embry, Sofia, Oliva & Julian Beira. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Faustine & Carman, & 3 brothers, Noel, Paul, and Brent.

Funeral services will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. (August 15, 2011) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville, Mike Hornback & Dale Barnes will be officiating. Burial will be in the Yeaman Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. Monday until time of service.
