Obituary

Presley Herod Lewis Jr., age 90, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Tuesday, (March 5, 2013) at Grayson Manor in Leitchfield.

He was born on January 8, 1923 in Franklin, KY, the son of the late Presley Herod Lewis Sr. and Annie Belle Meadows Lewis.

He was a World War II Army veteran, former owner and operator of Leitchfield Cleaners, who enjoyed playing bingo and hunting and fishing. He was a charter member of the Leitchfield Lions Club, former member and treasurer of the Leitchfield First Baptist Church and current member of the Eastwood Baptist Church in Bowling Green, KY.

He is survived by his children, Norma "Jeanne" Abell (Steve) of Ballard County, KY, Martin "Marty" Lewis (Jana) of Jeffersonville IN and Sharon Hayes (Leon) of Clarkson, KY, ten grandchildren, Shawn, Kelly and Josh Abell, Aaron, Jonathan and Adam Scott Lewis, Dedra Whittington, Chad, Jason and Ryan Hayes, 21 great grandchildren, and 2 sister-in-laws, Christine Bunch of Bowling Green, KY and Rachel Lewis of Jackson, TN.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Zula Rae Bunch Lewis, 2 sisters, Sadie Lewis and Louise Hale, and 3 brothers, Tom Lewis, Paul Ellis Lewis, and Henry Lewis.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, (March 7, 2013) at Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro Johnnie Long will be officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Bowling Green.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.

The family will also receive friends at the Eastwood Baptist Church in Bowling Green from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Thursday.
