Ralph Leonard Hockaday III, age 71, of Brandenburg, KY, (formerly of Cameron, MO) passed away Saturday, (February 24, 2024) at Jewish – U of L Hospital in Louisville, KY.

He was born on October 20, 1952 in Saint Louis, MO, the son of the late Ralph Leonard Hockaday Jr. and Geneva (Sizemore) Stout.

He served in Vietnam with the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Constellation. He retired from Caesars Casino and loved watching the Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals. He loved his guard dog, Sweet Pea, and was a loving husband, dad and Pops and will be missed by all.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Gloria Logsdon Hockaday of Brandenburg; three daughters, Christy Brink (Roger) of MO, Misty Tapp of NC, Melanie Haggard (James) of KY; five sons, Buck Jorgenson and Travis Hockaday, both of MO, Ralph Hockaday IV of TN, David Hockaday and Jonathan Blain, both of KY; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Wally Hockaday and Billy Timbs Jr. both of MO, John Decker of MN and Roger Decker of OK; four sisters, Evelyn Balentine, Brenda Stark, Aletha Eads and Virginia Atkinson, all of MO. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Decker; and three sisters, Geneva Morris, Gloria Jane Palmer & Delores Hovey.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. CST Saturday, (March 02, 2024) at the Logsdon Cemetery with burial to follow.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. CST Saturday until 12:30 p.m., at which time we will move to the cemetery for services.
