Randall Audra "Randy" Langley, age 65, of Short Creek passed away Friday, (May 13, 2022) at his home.

A beloved son, husband, father, friend, and neighbor, Randy was born on October 23, 1956 in Louisville, KY, the son of Hillis Langley Fentress and the late James Audra Langley.

Randy graduated from Caneyville High School in 1974, and bought his first farm that same year and continued farming for 48 years. He raised corn, soybeans, tobacco, wheat, hay, popcorn, peppers, chickens, hogs and cows. His eyes would light up when it was time to climb in the combine. The only thing that rivaled working on the farm was watching his kids play ball or attending a committee meeting at the office.

In his younger days, he would hunt squirrels, rabbits, birds, coons, mushrooms and arrowheads. He liked to fish, especially snagging at the Kentucky Lake. He also enjoyed collecting coins, bowling, camping and playing cards with family and friends either at home or at the local store. More recently, he enjoyed taking his grandkids for rides on the ranger, tractor and combine. In the evenings, he could be found watching Westerns, Presley's, The Opry, or The Curse of Oak Island.

He married the love of his life, Bonnie Day Langley, on April 4, 1981. Together they had four children, a son, Timmy Langley (Cassie); three daughters, Cindy Taylor (Adam), Annie Zellers (Jairus) & Cathy Langley.  Randy had 6 grandchildren, Kenly, Karson & Kase Taylor, Audrey Zellers, Emma & Kip Langley with Baby Boy Langley due in August. His mother, Hillis Langley Fentress, and brother, Rudolph Langley (Teresa), also survive.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, (May 19, 2022) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Leitchfield Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
