Randall E. Wood, age 89 , of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Saturday, (May 13, 2023) at Grayson Manor Nursing and Rehab in Leitchfield.

He was born on December 3, 1933 in Leitchfield, KY, the son of the late Lon and Lola Constant Wood.

He retired from Leggitt and Platt Inc. He enjoyed farming and gardening. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and being around his family and friends. He loved Bluegrass Music and played with several bands including Caney Creek Ramblers and Hickory Grove Band, singing high tenor. He was from a large family of eight boys and seven girls. His wife, Nelda Rea Sanders Wood passed away October 29, 2021. Randall was a member of Anneta United Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Rea Decker (Randall), and son, Ervin Earl Wood (Sherry); sister, Wanda McClure; three grandchildren, Jeremy Ray Decker, Deborah LeeAnn Richards (Johnathon) and Trenton Joseph Wood (Brandi); great-grandchildren, Talan Luke Decker, Kenzlea Marie Decker, Brianna Marea Barclay and Bailey Elaine Wood; step-great-grandchildren, Kotie Barclay, Jensen, Kaulder, Skyla and Levi Richards; and s everal nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a special friend, Larry Allen.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nelda Rea Wood; brothers, Denver, Curt, Charles, Johnny, Alphonso and Overt Wood and Roy Beasley Wood; sisters, Clorene Decker, Alma Hill, Irene Day, Ruby Decker, Oma Overby and Jerlene Downs; and great-grandson, Waylon Levy Barclay.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, (May 20, 2023) at the Anneta United Baptist Church. Bro. Blake Newton and Bro. Joe Brooks will be officiating. Burial will be in the church Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home on Friday (May 19, 2023) from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the Anneta United Baptist Church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services.
