Raymond Edwards, age 62, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Friday, (April 22, 2011) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center

He was born on July 16, 1948 , the son of Cecil & Ruby Young Edwards. He was a member of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by one son Rev. Doug (Stacy) Edwards of Leitchfield, 1 daughter Amy (Robbie) Hayes of Caneyville, his mother Ruby Young Edwards of Falls of Rough, 5 grandchildren Megan, Tyler, Tanner, Rylie & Hootie, and a very special brother-in-law Jody Embry. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce, 1 brother Lowery, and his father Cecil Edwards.
By trade, he worked as an automotive body repairman for 30+ years. Raymond worked hard all his life to provide for his family. He loved spending time talking about his grandchildren and friends. Even though his last few years were spent confined by his physical condition, his love and faith were always visible. He thanked God everyday for "each day" regardless of the obstacles he faced.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday (April 26, 2011) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro. Doug Edwards & Bro. Joe Brooks will be officiating. Burial will be in the Yeaman Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville after 11:00 – 8:00 Monday and after 9:00 A.M. Tuesday.
