Raymond Farris, age 72, of Caneyville, KY, passed away Thursday, (May 17, 2018) at his home.

He was born on February 20, 1946 in Shrewsbury, KY, the son of Tim and Florence Cook Farris.

He was employed for 17 years at P. Lorillard, 20 years at Vermont American and 11 and a half years at the Grayson County Detention Center. He was a hard worker and loved spending time with his family and friends. He was saved when he was 16 years old and was a member of Shrewsbury Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Linda Farris of Caneyville; son, Travis Farris of Shrewsbury; daughter, Theresa Farris Cook (Jeff) of Leitchfield; grandchildren, Brandon Ray Cook (Wendy), Jessica Farris and Jacob Farris; great-grandchildren, Kamryn and Brayden ; three brothers, Jimmie Farris of Shrewsbury, Russell and Walter Farris, both of Ready, KY; and many special friends.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Shirley and Jessie Farris and sister Aline Seaton.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, (May 21, 2018) at Dermitt Funeral Home. Bro. Curtis Decker will be officiating. Burial will be in Rabbit Flat Cemetery.

Visitation will be at from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. Monday, (May 20, 2018) until time of services.
