Raymond L. Pearl aka Daddo, age 88, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Sunday, (April 15, 2018) at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
He was born on March 6, 1930, in Big Clifty, KY, the son of the late Willian Asa and Nova Elizabeth Haynes Pearl.
He was a merchant and salesman at Arnett's Department Stores located in Leitchfield, Auburn, Russellville, Elkton, Elizabethtown, and Hardinsburg. He was past president the Rotary Club and past and youngest president of the Auburn Chamber of Commerce. Daddo loved his family and friends, traveling, racing, golf, casinos, and horses. He loved the sunshine and loved the beach. Daddo loved singing and entertained many with his voice. He was in the U.S. Air Force and a member of Leitchfield First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his children, Suzanne Hoyte (Norman) of Jacksonville, FL, Gloria Sykes (Bill) of Elizabethtown, KY and Cliff Pearl (Victoria) of Port St. Lucie, FL; grandchildren, Karrah Pearl, Jason Pearl, Eric Hoyt (Laura), Mary Michelle Wright (Robert), Hilary Cooper (Josh), Hannah Sykes, Tristan Lowe, Chasity Lowe and Brandy Lynn; thirteen great-grandchildren; and sisters, Bernice Hurst (Larry) and Betty Schelur (William) all of Louisville.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Arnett Pearl, son, John Pearl; grandsons, Brandon Hoyt, and William Sean Sykes; and seven siblings.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, (April 18, 2018) at the Dermitt Funeral Home. Bro. Harvey Davis will be officiating. Cremation was chosen with burial in the Walnut Hill Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
