Raymond K. Prechtel, age 69, of Caneyville, KY, passed away Thursday, (May 25, 2023) at his home.

He was born on September 18, 1953 in Louisville, KY, the son of the late Fred and Stella Rose Schmitt Prechtel.

He had worked at Fountaine Truck Equipment in Louisville. He did remodeling jobs, worked at a saw mill, and was a welder. He enjoyed fishing, camping, rabbit hunting, boating, and all outdoor activities. He loved going to flea markets and collecting antiques. He graduated from Ahrens High School in 1973. He was saved at Pleasant View Methodist Church and was a member at Old Wilson Pleasant Union United Baptist Church.

He is survived by his siblings, Mary, Phyllis, William, Gene, and Robert; several nieces and nephews, including David McCrady (Nicole); his former wife, Ester McCrady; and his dog, Dyson, his loving canine companion.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Fred.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, (May 31, 2023) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Old Wilson Pleasant Union Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday until time of services.
