Rebecca Smith, age 55, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Sunday, (August 30, 2020) at the Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.

She was born on August 27, 1965 in Leitchfield, KY, the daughter of the late Murl and Delores Stinson Gibson.

She was a customer service representative for Kentucky Farm Bureau who enjoyed shopping, taking vacations to the ocean, and she loved being around people and could light up a room with her smile. She was a member of the Anneta United Baptist Church.

She is survived by her loving companion, Bill Ellis and his son, Shane Ellis; four sisters, Janetta Carroll, Shirley Gibson, Donna Smith, and Mary Cannon; five brothers, Dale, Doug, Jimmy, William, and Vance Gibson.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by two step-fathers, Glendell Earl Barrett and Leo White; two brothers, Chuck and Larry Gibson; one sister-in-law, Sheila Gibson; and one brother-in-law, Freck Cannon.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, (September 3, 2020) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Hank Gibson will be officiating. Burial will be in the Gibson Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
