Regina (Jennie) Lois Wood, age 77, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Sunday, (July 31, 2016) at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY.

She was born on October 2, 1938, in Leitchfield, the daughter of the late Robert L. and Consulo Lavada Decker Grant.

She was a home-maker, who enjoyed gardening, canning and visiting with her family. She married the love of her life, Denver Wood, on March 17, 1956. She attended the McGrew Memorial General Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Denver Wood of Leitchfield; son, Tim Wood (Perilyn), of Louisville; two grandchildren, Todd and Chris Wood (Heather); four great-grandchildren, Jessica and Michael Wood, Ethan Carter and Jacob Pierce; six sisters, Renee Higdon (David), Alice Madison, Shirley Pennington, Darlene Decker (Walton), Frances Allen (Larry), and Edna Gardner (Maxie); and ten nieces and sixteen nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Denver Aubrey Wood, Jr., two brothers, Jimmy and Buddy Grant, and two sisters, Judy Horn and Lavada Powell.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, (August 4, 2016) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Jeremy Lowe will be officiating. Burial will be in the Anneta Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, and from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
