Rena Mae Whobrey, age 81, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Monday, (September 28, 2015) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY.
She was born on January 19, 1934 in Edmonson County, KY, the daughter of the late Howard and Ersley McStoots King.
She was a housewife, who enjoyed playing the guitar and singing and attended church at the Holiness House of God in Anneta Ky.
She is survived by two daughters, Rose Sanders of Clarksville IN. and Arlene Whobrey Durbin of Okeechobee, FL; five sons, Ray Whobrey(Cathy), Carl Whobrey (Gladys), Jason Whobrey, Roger Whobrey all from Anneta, KY. Justin Whobrey (Sheila) of Hendersonville, TN; 14 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; nine sisters, Loretta Stone of Caneyville, KY, Dottie Mae Cottrell and Natella Williams both of Leitchfield, Joyce Marie Richards of Summersville, Effie Sue Mercer of Bee Springs, KY, Alice Faye Cranmer of Cecilia,KY, Evelyn Cook of Arizona, Elaine Decker of Clarkson, KY, and Gerlean Smith of MO.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by one son Edward Lee Whobrey; one grandson Daniel J. Whobrey; five brothers James, Simon Curtis, Elbie, William Ray and Jesse Lee King; and three sisters, Wanda Jean McStoots, Roselean Whobrey, Veneta King.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, (October 1, 2015) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Charlie Smith will be officiating. Burial will be in the House Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
