Reva Pharis, age 94, of Mesa, AZ, passed away Thursday, (February 10, 2011) at her residence in AZ.

She was born on January 4, 1917, in Butler County KY, the daughter of Ulysses and Octavia Embry Byers.

She is survived by one daughter, Beronica Johnson and her husband Mitchell of Mesa, AZ, three sisters and two brothers, Captola Bard, Justine Ernspiker, Machilda Gary, Raymond Byers and Laymon Byers all of Louisville, KY two grandchildren, Austin Johnson and Michelle Amalong of Phoenix, AZ, five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carmon and one daughter, Linda Sue.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday (February 15, 2010) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville, KY. Bro. Dale Barnes will be officiating. Burial will be in the Embry Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday (February 14, 2011) from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST at the Shoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral home at 4895 North Preston Hwy in Brooks, KY, and after 9:00 a.m. CST Tuesday (February 15, 2011) until time of service at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville, KY.
