Richard Wayne Logsdon, Age 65, of Bardstown, KY passed away peacefully Monday (July 8, 2024) at Flaget Memorial Hospital surrounded by family.

He was born on November 8, 1958 in Leitchfield, KY; the son of the late Rev. James & Pauline (Oller) Logsdon

He married Rhonda Kay (Howard), his one and only, his meant to be, on March 31st, 1978.

His greatest enjoyment aside from his wife was watching his grandchildren grow. He was very proud of his children and the family they created. He had some of the best years of his life enjoying Rough River Lake, golfing, being part of the Moose Lodge, and being a foster parent for some time. Upon his retirement, he used his time to volunteer at he Room In The Inn shelter in Bardstown. He was a member of the New Freedom Church. He and his wife took care of one another in sickness the same as in health just as promised upon marriage. He was thankful for all the care and prayers both received and felt from churches, family, friends and BHH cancer center. He was very tough, but extremely loving, kind and giving.

He is survived by his three children, Matisha (Brian) Chambers, Angela Jones, James (Cherish) Logsdon all of Bardstown; Ten grandchildren, Brandon, Andrew (Hannah), Emily (Jacob), Michael (Courtney), Austyn, Julia (Louis), Madison (Dakota), Callie, Evan, Elliott; One Great Grandchild, Tucker; One God Great Grandchild Mayson; Two Sisters, Cathy (Manuel) Mudd, Gloria Hockaday; One Brother Jeff (Jodie) Hester; Three Sister In-Laws, Loretta Logsdon, Lechia (Terry) Wright, Tonya (Donald) Perry; Two Brother In-Laws Kent and Chris Howard and several very loved nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles, foster children and friends.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife, Rhonda Kay (Howard) Logsdon; his parents Rev. James & Pauline (Oller) Logsdon; daughter Latisha Lynn Logsdon; Brothers Sammy, David and Bernard Logsdon; and other close family, Barbara Logsdon, Ralph Hockaday, Rev. David and Katheryn (Bryant) Howard, Craig Howard.

Funeral services will be at 02:00 p.m. on July 13, 2024 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Damon Lasley Jr. will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Logsdon Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
