Obituary

Richard Eugene Sanders, age 60, of Cub Run, KY, passed away Saturday, (July 6, 2013) at his residence.

He was born on May 25, 1953 in Louisville, KY, the son of Cecil and Lottie Wilkins Sanders.

He was a retired veteran of the U.S. Army, a guide at Mammoth
Cave National Park, and a member of Far Off Broadway Players theatre group. He enjoyed fishing and boating. He was an avid story-teller, some tales of which he had written himself. He was a very creative artist and wood-worker. He was a member and deacon of New Harvest Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nancy Joann Noblett Sanders; his mother, Lottie Sanders of Louisville; two sons, Robert Eugene Sanders and his wife, Janell of MA., and Micha Sanders and his wife, Cortney of Leitchfield; three grandchildren, Trenton, Miranda, and Jack Sanders; one sister, Kerry Horstman of Louisville; one niece, Kelly and husband Eric Pullen; and two great nieces, Jordan and Myia Pullen.

He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Sanders.

A Celebration of Life services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, (July 10, 2013) at the New Harvest Baptist Church in Caneyville. Bro. Jeremey Atwood, and Bro. Andy Vance will be officiating. Burial will be in the Layman Memorial cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the New Harvest Baptist Church until time of services.
