Rita Kaye Brant, age 63, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Tuesday, (March 21, 2017) at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.
She was born on December 22, 1953 in Leitchfield, KY, the daughter of the late Elmer Newton and Velma Decker Newton Pleasant.
She was a home-maker, who enjoyed playing BINGO and trivia games on her computer. She and her husband, Jim Brant, were married forty-four years.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Brant, two daughters, Christie and Jaime Brant, all of Leitchfield; brother, Charles Newton of Leitchfield, and sister, Hazel Redmon of Caneyville; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Tammy Stevenson and Tonya Decker; brother, James Robert Newton, and sister, Pearl Alvey; step-father, James David Pleasant; and an infant brother.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, (March 24, 2017) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Nathan Lowe will be officiating. Burial will be in the Williams Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. Friday until time of services.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Dermitt Funeral Home to help offset the funeral expenses.
