Obituary
Rita Catherine Burden, age 70, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Sunday, (September 24, 2017) at Fordsville Nursing and Rehab.
She was born on November 7, 1946 in Grayson County, KY, the daughter of the late Homer and Minnie Mae Hayse Lindsey. She married Kenneth Ray Burden on June 10, 1964.
She was a housewife who loved cooking, gardening, canning and spending time with her kids and grandkids whom she babysat for many years. She was a member of the Leitchfield Seventh Day Adventist Church.
She is survived by her four sons, David Burden (Marie) of Lexington, KY, Timothy Burden and Roger Burden (Sandy) both of Leitchfield, and Joseph Burden (Paige) of Falls of Rough, KY; four grandsons, David Wesley, Sabel, Christopher and Brian Burden; three granddaughters Rorie & Fynle Burden and Alisha Dawn Gaines; four great-grandchildren, Naomi Wells, Tyberius, D'Erica and Dominic Gaines; one sister, Mary Lou Johnson (Rollie) of Leitchfield; three brothers, Charles Homer, Perry (Barbara) and Robert Andrew Lindsey all of Leitchfield.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Ray Burden.
Cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, (September 29, 2017) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until time of services.
