Robert Gene (Bob) Kinkade, age 81, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Sunday, (October 19, 2014) at his home in Leitchfield, KY.

He was born on May 23, 1933, in the Providence community of Grayson County, KY. He was the son of the late William Grant and Mary Edith Hill Kinkade.

He retired as a maintenance supervisor from Hillerich and Bradsby in Louisville. Bob enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, gardening, and volunteering at his church. He graduated from St. Paul Catholic High School in 1952. He was on the Board of Directors of the Walnut Hill Cemetery for over thirty years. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he served as an altar boy in 1945.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Rea Childress Kinkade, two sons, Don Kinkade and his wife, Wannetta, and Steve Kinkade and his wife, Susie; one daughter, Susie Lucas and her husband, David, all of Leitchfield; seven grandchildren, Daniel Kinkade, Christina Decker, Brandon Kinkade, Lauren Hughes, April Spalding, Shanna Stephens, and April Lucas; six great-grandchildren, Coley, Ethan, Christian, Sy, Kennedy, and Walker; and several nieces and nephews.

Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters; one of which was a special twin sister, Betty Hoover.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, (October 22, 2014) at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Leitchfield. Rev. Dave Johnson and Rev. Tony Bickett will be officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home until time of services at the church.

Prayer services will be held on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
