Robert Edward Hogan, age 73, of Caneyville, KY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, (May 30, 2026) at Grayson Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation in Leitchfield, KY.
Robert was born on January 31, 1953 in Jefferson County, KY, the son of the late Willard and Bessie Lacefield Hogan.
He was a carpenter by trade, doing residential remodeling and building. Robert was an avid reader, loved horses, and really enjoyed eating sweets, especially chocolates. He was always smiling and never lost his funny sense of humor. Robert loved his family greatly and adored spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Wisdom Faith Community Church in Edmonton, KY.
He is survived by his children, Angela Marie Earl of Indiana, Danielle Sue Brown (Brandon) of Brownsville, Priscilla Hogan of Bee Spring, and Phillip Edward Hogan of Indiana; nine grandchildren, and he was very excited about having one precious great-grandchild on the way; five siblings, Barbara Lee Cummings (James), Billy Lee Hogan (Melinda), Samuel Joseph Hogan, Willard Bunell Hogan (Cindy), Anna Marie Greasor (John); and several nieces and nephews.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Betty Sue Brooks, Brenda Faye Cook, Lola Mae Hogan, William Boyd Hogan, and Jeffrey Wade Hogan.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, (June 6, 2026) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Earlene Branstetter will be officiating. Burial will be in the Layman Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
Robert stated to his family that he wanted to thank the hospital staff at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes and Dr. Triplett for excellent care.
