Robert Raymond Wright, age 66, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (April 30, 2020) at Owensboro Health in Owensboro, KY.

He was born on October 9, 1953 in Leitchfield, KY, the son of the late Ben Wright and Judith McBeath Young.

He was a creative man and industrious entrepreneur his entire life. He worked most recently as an independent insurance agent. Robert ran the Trading Post in Leitchfield after the death of a family member. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking, gathering and identifying herbs and plants, leather-working, and falconry. He was a supporter of the National Parks and loved to travel.  Robert was a lifelong collector and historian. He was the leader of Boy Scout Troop #135 in Leitchfield and member of Masonic Lodge #236 in Leitchfield. Robert graduated from Leitchfield High School in 1972 and then attended Georgetown College. He was of the Christian faith.

He is survived by his children, Victoria Wright Keefer (Ben) of Knoxville, TN and Andrew McBeath Wright of Leitchfield; his sister, Maurine Fletcher of Leitchfield; uncle, Robert McBeath of LaGrange, KY; the mother of his children, Linda Wright of Leitchfield and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Judith McBeath Young and his sister, Judith Jane Edlin.

Services will be held at the Logsdon Valley Park Outdoor Amphitheater on October 9th, 2021. Visitation is at 1PM with a small ceremony beginning at 3PM, followed by a burial of his ashes at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Leitchfield, KY.
