Roberta Haycraft VanMeter went home March 7, 2017 at Grayson Manor Nursing Home. Roberta was born August 3, 1928

She was born in Grayson County to Happy Jack and Flora Meredith Haycraft. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-great grandmother who loved her family and her church when she was able to attend. She was a charter member of Mulberry Flats United Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Sherry VanMeter of Leitchfield, KY; one brother, Elvis Haycraft (Margaret) of Louisville, KY; one son-in-law, Bruce Browning of Bowling Green, KY; five grandchildren, Larry VanMeter (Melissa) of Clarkson, Chris Browning (Tracey) of Bowling Green, Diane Lasley of Leitchfield, Josh Browning of Madisonville, KY and Drew VanMeter of Leitchfield; ten great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bro. Berthel VanMeter, two children Gary VanMeter and Beverly Browning and her parents, three sisters, Mary Evelyn Petty, Pauline O'Neal, and Ethel Pearl; eight brothers, Emery, Stanley, Sherman, Carlie, Marshall, Delmer, Herley and Hilman Haycraft.

She also survived by many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, (March 11, 2017) at the Mulberry Flats United Baptist Church in Leitchfield. Bros. Windy Blair and Garry Watkins will be officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and at the Mulberry Flats United Baptist Church from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Dermitt Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
