Roger Andrew Embry, age 71, of Caneyville, KY, gained his wings and entered into the Promised Land on Monday, (December 16, 2024) at Ohio County Hospital in Hartford, KY.
He was born on January 30, 1953 in Clarkson, KY, the son of Geraldine "Jewel" Swift Embry and the late Otis Embry.
A proud veteran of the US Navy, he was a master electrician and a general contractor who enjoyed roofing, electrical work, having company over to visit and especially enjoyed spending time with his brother, Freddy. He was a member of the White Ridge Non-Denominational Church and also liked to visit other churches.
He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Hicks (Jamie) of Caneyville, Roger Dale Embry Ashley) of Hartford; his baby girl, Andrea Mudd (Daniel) of Millwood; 11 grandchildren who he loved dearly, Andrew, Presley, Lilly & Jaxon Hicks; Cody Simpson; Mykynze & Braxton "Hot Rod" Embry; Matthew, Levi, Riley & Olivia Mudd; two brothers, Freddy and Timothy Embry; three sisters, Ann Gallahue (Pete), Cathy Spencer (Lou) & Patricia Embry (Larry); and his mother, Jewel Embry. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Hicks; a cousin, Terry Skaggs, and his former wife, Patricia Embry.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Friday, (December 27, 2024) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Daniel Mudd will be officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch "Dog Walk" Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. Friday until time of services.
