Roger Green, age 87, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Christmas day with his family, (December 25, 2008) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY.

He was born on March 30, 1921, in Grayson County KY, the son of the late Wesley Roselle and Lena Shain Green. He was a retired salesman for Tom's Foods. He also was a farmer; he drove the Senior Citizens Van for three years and presently was a visitation attendant at the Dermitt Funeral Homes; he was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the Leitchfield First General Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Shain Green, his son, Mike Green (Sheila) of Leitchfield, two daughters, Kathy Dennison (Steve) of Leitchfield and Salli Meredith (Gardnar) of Louisville, six grandchildren, Kristin Pierce (Keith), Chancellor Dennison, Shaina Gregory (Brian), Kris Witten, Ashton and Eli Meredith, and one step grandchild, Lee Fox. He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters, W R Green Jr, Helen Shain, Ruby Mae Litsey and Desi Green.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday (December 29, 2008) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bros. Rudd Kerr and Buddy Brooks will be officiating. Burial, with Military honors, will be in the Deweese Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. Monday until time of services.
