Ronald Keith Pierce Jr., 75, a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many, passed away December 20, 2023 after a short but hard fought battle with cancer.

Ron was born September 14, 1948 in Miami, FL. He grew up in the Florida Keys where he met lifelong friends and spent his days building boats, running from the coast guard, and catching every kind of fish imaginable.

After graduating from Marathon High School, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and was stationed in Fort Campbell, KY. During his time in the Army, he not only earned a good conduct medal but also married his wife, Tura Andrus Pierce.

They spent a few years living in Marathon, FL before settling in Clarkson, KY where they raised three children.

Ron worked as a police officer with the State of Kentucky for 25 years. While he liked his job he could not wait to retire and spend his days on a boat fishing instead of his patrol car writing tickets.

After retiring he became an RV owner with Tura, and started traveling across the United States visiting national parks, state parks, lakes, and anyone they knew with enough space to park an RV.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Tura Pierce, his daughter Sandra (Jack) Hoffman; his son, Brian Pierce, and his cherished grandson and fishing buddy, Bentley Hoffman. He also had 4 nieces, 2 nephews, and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Keith Pierce, Sr; his mother Martha Yvonne Thompson; his sister, MaryAnn Yeckley, and his brother, John Pierce.

A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 11am at Dermitt Funeral Home, (306 W Main St, Leitchfield, KY 42754). Visitation will be held from 10am until time of service.
