Ronald Lee Poynter, age 67, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Saturday, (February 15, 2025) at his home.

He was born on March 20, 1957 in Louisville, KY, the son of the late Elliott and Genevieve Woolen McCormick.

A Veteran of the US Navy, he was a utility worker with the City of Leitchfield.

He is survived by his daughter, Jaime Lynn Burtulato of Philadelphia, PA; two brothers, Don McCormick (Jean) of Falls of Rough, KY and "Little" Ron McCormick (Patina) of Falls of Rough; and a sister, Marcella Stevenson also of Falls of Rough. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Poynter; a brother, Robert McCormick; maternal grandparents, Alfred & Junie Payton Woolen.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, (February 24, 2025) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Wayne Clemons will be officiating. Burial will be in the Leitchfield Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. Monday until time of services.
