Charlie Roscoe Hayes, age 79, of Welchs Creek, Ky. passed away Monday August 24, 2009 in Louisville. He was born July 26, 1930 in Grayson Co. the son of Emmitt & Mattie Glazebrook Hayes. He was a retired maintenance welder for Ford Motor Co., a deacon, song leader & a member of the Chapel Union Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Maerean Hayes of Welchs Creek, 2 sons Brad Hayes of Rough River, Timothy( Kim) Hayes of Louisville, 1 daughter Karen (Robert) Fentress of Louisville, and 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 8 brothers & 3 sisters.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday August 27, 2009 at the Chapel Union Baptist Church with interment in the Chapel Union Cemetery, Bro. Greg Fields & Bro. Clinton White will be officiating.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville 11:00-9:00 Wednesday and after 9:00 A.M. Thursday at the Chapel Union Baptist Church.
