"Colonel" Roy Embry, age 86, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Sunday, (March 16, 2008) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY.

He was born on July 21, 1921, in Edmonson Co., KY, the son of E. B. and Eva Hogan Embry. He was a retired welder from Airco Productions, a United States Army veteran of World War 2, a member of the Leitchfield American Legion, the VFW in Louisville and the Leitchfield First General Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Alberta Roberts Annarot Embry, a daughter-in-law, Delores Embry of Louisville, two grandchildren, Darrell Embry and Lisa Flaherty (Randy) and two great grandchildren, Morgan and Ryan Flaherty.

He was preceded in death by his son, David Embry.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday (March 20, 2008) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Rudd Kerr will be officiating. Burial will be in the Leitchfield Memory Gardens.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
