Obituary
Roy Fentress, age 86, of Hardinsburg, KY, formerly of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Saturday, (September 26, 2009) at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital.
He was born on October 11, 1922, in Mook, KY, the son of Joe H. and Maude Miller Fentress. He was a furniture salesman, a US Navy Veteran of World War II and was a member and Elder of the Coyles Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Athleen Haycraft Fentress of Hardinsburg, KY, two sons, Roy Darrell Fentress (Bonnie) of Harned, KY and Dennis Britt Fentress (Terri) of Paducah, KY, five grandchildren, Darren, Brent, Brittany, Carson and Logan Fentress and two great grandchildren, Joseph and Matthew. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernell and Lewis Fentress and two sisters, Dimple Buckler and Magdalene Wilkerson.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. (September 29, 2009) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bros. Bill Carter and Jim Tucker will be officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of service.
Expressions of sympathy can take the form of donations to the Breckinridge Health Inc, Extended Care.
