Obituary

Roy Ellis McClellan, Sr. passed away May 11, 2025 at Signature Healthcare of Elizabethtown, KY at the age of 82.

Roy was born on September 16, 1942, in Falls of Rough, KY. He was the son of John and Ella Baker McClellan who preceded him in death, along with two daughters, Nina Lindsey Alemao, and Sheila Hutchinson, and one son, Matt Lindsey. Also preceding him in death were his siblings, sisters, Lucille Lewis, Virginia Henning, Marilyn Sue Duncan; brothers, Marvie McClellan, Harold David (Jack) McClellan, Thomas Leo McClellan, and Freddie McClellan.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette McClellan of Vine Grove, KY; sons, Roy Ellis McClellan, Jr. (Wendy) of Hoboken, GA, and James Edward Lindsey (Belinda); grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Also surviving are brother, Johnny McClellan (Dollie) of Rockport, IN, sisters, Lennie Henning of Hardinsburg, KY, Anna Johnson (Jimmy) of Leitchfield, KY, and Irene Butler (Darrell) of Leitchfield, KY.

Roy grew up working on the farm, and then later worked at Fort Knox as a professional painter, where he retired. His favorite hobbies were coaching baseball, raccoon hunting, and restoring his antique car and truck. He will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. CST on Friday, (May 16, 2025) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Deacon Roger Dermitt will be officiating. Burial will be in the Lone Star Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. CST on Friday until time of services.
