Ruby Dermitt, age 86, of Leitchfield KY, passed away Friday (October 12, 2012) at the Kensington Manor Nursing and Rehab in Elizabethtown, KY.

She was born on March 15, 1926 in Grayson County, the daughter of the late Willie and Lorena Bailes Yates.

She was a housewife and with her husband, Rev. Edward Dermitt helped establish the Dermitt Funeral Home in 1969. She was a member of Claggett United Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Clemons of Leitchfield, two sons, Jerry Dermitt (Judy) of Caneyville, KY and Roger Dermitt (Chris) of Leitchfield, one sister, Ethel Smith of Louisville, KY, eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death, by her husband, Rev. Edward Dermitt, a son, Richard Dale Dermitt, a son-in-law, Richard Clemons, two brothers, Elmer and Paul Yates and three sisters, Cova Dean, Ollie Rich and Cuba Rich.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Claggett United Baptist Church in Leitchfield. Rev. Howard Decker, Rev. Garry Watkins and Rev. Danny Dickson will be officiating. Burial is in the Claggett Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 12 Noon to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Sunday and at the Church from 12 noon until time of services.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can take the form of donations to the Claggett Cemetery Fund.
