Obituary
Ruby Dean Gaskins, age 77, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Saturday, (August 26, 2017) at the Morgantown Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was born on October 2, 1939, in Grayson County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Rev. Clarence and Mary Lindsey Smith.
She was a cashier at JR Food Stores, where she worked until she retired and was a 25+ year member of Claggett United Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Ronnie Blanton (Deb) of Vine Grove, KY, Donald Blanton of Leitchfield, KY; a daughter, Diana Childress (Floyd) of Big Clifty, KY; two grandchildren, Jeff and Cody Blanton; a great-grandchild, Xavier Blanton; two brothers, Don Smith (Teeny) of Leitchfield and David Smith (Barbara) of Louisville, KY and a special young girl, Hannah Portman.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her youngest son, Craig Blanton.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. noon on Wednesday, (August 30, 2017) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with burial to follow in the Claggett Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.
