Obituary
Ruby Elizabeth Darnell Mercer, age 92, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Monday, (June 4, 2012) at the Breckinridge Memorial Hospital in Hardinsburg, Kentucky.
She was born on November 12, 1919, in McDaniels, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Ambrose and Shellie Langley Darnell.
She was a Retired Cook from the Ben Johnson School System.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Lucille Carman of Leitchfield, KY and Laura Embry (Archie) of Hardinsburg, KY, 2 sons, John Mercer (Debby) of Leitchfield, KY and David Mercer (Becky) of Falls of Rough, KY, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Delbert Mercer, a son, George Mercer, a daughter, Mary Smith, 2 sisters Ella Rae Embry and Fannie Kiper, and 4 brothers Jesse, Charlie, Willie and Johnny Darnell.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm. Wednesday, (June 6, 2012) at Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Billy Carter will be officiating. Burial will be in the McDaniels Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 3:00 pm. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
