Ruby Morene Pounds, age 97 , of Bowling Green, KY, passed away Monday, (September 26, 2022) at The Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY.

She was born on July 14, 1925 in Dostop, KY, the daughter of the late James R. and Alie House Wilkins.

She was a nurse's assistant who enjoyed word search puzzles, and meeting with her girlfriends at McDonalds. She was a member of the Clearview Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Deborah Higginbotham, Garry Pounds (Gale), & James Pounds (Genie); 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters; Joyce Etter & Betsy Merchant and her beloved grand-dog, Fern. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Pounds; a daughter, Linda McConnell; a step-son Larry Pounds; seven brothers, Onie, Ivan, Homer, Bradford, Joe, Russell & Gene Wilkins; and five sisters, Dora Terry, Elsie Douglas, Lois Hayse, Lorene Rodriguez & Lottie Sanders.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. (central time) Saturday, (October 8, 2022) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Chester Shartzer will be officiating. Burial will be in the Layman Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. (central time) Saturday until time of services.
