Obituary

Ruby Lee Barnes White, age 92, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (July 24, 2008) at her residence.

She was born on June 3, 1916, in Grayson County KY, the daughter of William Cletus and Mary Era Lile Barnes. She was a housewife and mother and was a lifetime member of the St Joseph Catholic Church, where she was an active member of the Legion of Mary and the Altar Society.

She is survived by three sons, Joseph E. White (Marie) of Louisville, Kenneth Edward and John A. White (Reva) both of Leitchfield, five daughters, Janice Russell (Bob) of Lexington, KY, Martina Darst (Bob) of Calvert City, KY, Catherine Barnes (Jim) of Elizabethtown, KY, Phyllis Minton (Kenneth) and Rita Kay Hodges (Sam) both of Clarkson, KY, two sisters, Dorotha Sims and Mary Alpha Clark both of Louisville, twenty-eight grandchildren, and thirty-three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett White, two sons, James Cletus and Lloyd White, two brothers, Bill and Bob Barnes and three sisters, Lillian Frances Shull, Emma Elizabeth Stewart and Martha Harden.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday (July 26, 2008) at the St Joseph Catholic Church in Leitchfield, under the direction of the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Father Randy Howard and Father Brian Johnson will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Prayer service will be Friday night at 6:30 p.m.

Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.

Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Lyle Cemetery; the St Joseph Catholic Church or Hosparus of Central Kentucky
