Rusty Samuel Kerr, age 63, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Wednesday, (October 16, 2024) at Kindred Hospital in Louisville, KY.

He was born on August 07, 1961 in Louisville, KY, the son of the Russell Kerr and the late Nellie Day Kerr.

A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he was an assistant gunsmith who enjoyed NASCAR, UK Sports, shooting pool, and having a good time with friends and family.

He is survived by his son, Daniel Bookwalter of Louisville; two daughters, Nellie Kerr (Roger Pawley) of Leitchfield & Hayley Gwyn of Hammond, Indiana; a granddaughter, Clare Morris; one brother, Ricky Kerr of Leitchfield; one niece, Jessica Hunt; two nephews, Dustin & Derrick Kerr; two great-nieces, Alyssa Pierce & Kealynn Kerr and five great-nephews, Layne Hunt, Jakob, Ethan, Austin & Christian Kerr. Two aunts, Grace Kerr & Libby Davis; and his father, Russell Kerr also survive.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nellie Day Kerr.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, (October 22, 2024) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Landis Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.
